Replace your non-compostable plastic sponges with these natural, eco-friendly cellulose and sisal scourers. Made from 100% plant-based materials, they are completely biodegradable, so they can be composted at the end of their lifespan.
These multi-purpose cellulose and sisal sponges are super absorbent and can handle scrubbing pans just as well as plastic scourers. One softer side is suitable for wiping work surfaces and plates, whereas the more abrasive side is ideal for scrubbing pans, cleaning floors, sinks and baths. These tough sponges will last around three months before they start to break down and eventually no longer be effective. Sisal sponges are also a much better material to use than plastic scouring pads, which can end up in the oceans where they harm marine life.
Our plant-based sponges, made from sisal, natural plant fibre and cellulose, will break down over time. Plastic sponges, on the other hand, will be around for tens of thousands of years in landfills.
