Running a business in a sustainable manner means adopting practices that consider environmental, social, and economic factors to minimise negative impacts and ensure long-term viability.
Here are Simple Living Eco we pride ourselves on the sustainable ways that we operate, and continually strive to improve upon.
Some of the ways in which we are pioneers for sustainability are detailed below:
Product Design & Development: Our (now) wide range of household and laundry products have been developed with sustainability in mind. Water represents more than 80% of the weight in most laundry products yet Simple Living Eco products contain NO WATER giving a huge 94% reduction in transport carbon emissions. Our products are made with only plant based materials ensuring that we remain committed to using environmentally friendly materials.
Eco-Friendly Packaging: We ensure that our packaging is sustainable and biodegradable to reduce waste and environmental impact. Sustainable packaging often utilises renewable resources and requires less energy and water during production, helping conserve valuable natural resources. Sustainable packaging materials are often lightweight, which can lead to lower transportation costs and reduced greenhouse gas emissions during distribution.
Sustainable Supply Chain: We only work with suppliers and businesses that follow sustainable practices and prioritise using environmentally friendly products and services. We also only work with other UK companies to ensure that we keep our carbon footprint as low as possible. We regularly check in with new and existing suppliers / partners to analyse the ways in which they are operating, allowing us to ensure their practices match with ours.
Ethical Sourcing: Following on from above, we ensure that raw materials and components are sourced ethically, respecting labour rights and fair trade practices.
Waste Management: We have implemented a comprehensive waste management system to reduce, reuse, and recycle materials. This is important from production to packaging to supply.
Long-Term Planning: We have incorporated sustainability into the company's long-term strategic planning to ensure our commitment to sustainable practices over time. We are constantly reviewing practices and looking to further improve our products and services to be even more sustainable.
What does all this mean?
By adopting these kinds of sustainable practices, businesses can play a significant role in creating a more environmentally and socially responsible world while also improving their own resilience and competitiveness in the long run. It is great to see more businesses doing this, and working together for a greener and more responsible future for generations to come.
