We thought it would be useful to pull together the most frequently asked questions that we get asked about our British made Laundry Detergent Sheets and share the answers with you all.
Q: Why are your Laundry Sheets better for the environment?
Our Laundry Sheets eliminate single-use plastic detergent bottles. They come in a recyclable cardboard and dissolve in water, so leave no residue in your machine, pipes or on laundered items. The sheets do not contain phosphates, chlorine bleach, enzymes, starch, clay, palm oil, animal products or artificial colouring. They are not tested on animals and so are vegan friendly. They are lighter and more compact to transport helping to reduce carbon emissions.
Q: Where are your Laundry Sheets made?
Our Laundry Sheets are made in the UK.🇬🇧 Most Laundry Sheets on the market come from China or Canada. Ours are the only Laundry Sheets that are made in the UK.
Q: Are your Laundry Sheets non bio or bio?
Our sheets are non-bio which means that they do not contain enzymes. All the ingredients are plant-based. Non-bio means that they are kinder to your skin that products that contain enzymes (bio)
Q: Do they work at low temperatures?
Yes they do! They can also from 20 degrees celsius and can be used for handwashing. Just use half a sheet.
Q: Do your Laundry Sheets contain starch?
No. A lot of other Laundry Sheets contain starch (and clay) but these ingredients are both unnecessary and also encourage the growth of bacteria. This is why your machine sometimes smells, as starch and clay do not break down and encourage the growth of bacteria.
Q: Do your Laundry Sheets contain PVOH?
Yes at the moment they do although it has been proved that PVOH dissolves in water leaving no residue or microplastics and is poses no harm to the environment.
Q: Why do your Laundry Sheets not leave much of a scent on my laundry?
The fragrances in our Laundry Sheets are made from oils, not synthetic fragrances and are purposely kept at low levels (less than 1% fragrance) so that our products are gentle on skin and pose no threat to aquatic life. We recommend choosing the unscented variant to avoid irritation if you have sensitive skin, skin allergies or suffer from eczema. We do not use fragrances that are made from toxic chemicals, which is what you find in most mainstream detergents.
Q: Can you use fabric softener or bleach with the Laundry Sheets?
Yes you can use other products with our Laundry Sheets although we would recommend you use our Fragrance Boosters and an oxygen based stain removing product (our Oxygen Whitening Tablets are back in stock w/c 19th August.) You also might like to try our plant-based Stain Remover?
Q: Are your Laundry Sheets suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes - due to the gentle nature of the ingredients. We tested our sheets on people with sensitive skin and no reaction was found. We recommend using the Unscented Laundry Sheets if you have skin allergies or are sensitive to fragrance.
Q: Can you use Laundry Sheets on washable nappies?
Yes but we would recommend you pre-treat the nappies with our Oxygen Whitening Tablets first then wash as normal with our Laundry Sheets
